“Where is the temple ?”

If I had ever managed to write a book about my time as a worship leader and my thoughts on the subject the title would have been “Where is the temple ?” That seems to me to be  key – where we imagine the temple to be. 

As long as we think it’s a building we’ll think the people who officiate there are the priests so everyone else must be the visiting pilgrims. Where as we know that we are the temple of the HS and we are each clearly handed priestly duties such as offerings, sacrifices, praise and intercession. There is no link in any way in the NT between the role of leaders – (and there are leaders, with clear roles) and the priestly duties we are given !
