Once upon a time
Before the time of Christendom and State Religion
When followers of The Way were subversives and outlaws
No longer under The Law
Yet fulfilling it
Commited to the Rule of Law
Yet recognising a higher ruler
Before the time of status building
Disciples of a dead Messiah
Broke the mould with inner fire
Broke taboos, erupted Life
Sold ancestral lands for sharing
Wouldn't bow to racial lines
